I painted this about a year into my treatment for depressive episodes.
In agony, someone’s mind is tinkered with by a benevolent self, which cradles their head and reassembles their brain. This benevolent self is being repaired in similar fashion by even more elevated hands. I am not religious but I do believe that we have a higher self as well, a more benevolent, kind, and forgiving self, which wants us to be whole.
