THE HORROR.
Tomorrow I am going to the garden store for: tomato and pepper starts, sand and soil for the poppy zone, and a connector to hook the hose to the kitchen sink since our outdoor connection is broken.
Then on saturday I am finishing some sketches for a tattoo; sunday I am visiting a friend’s shop up here for the day and working on a client of mine I haven’t seen in…six years? ish.
Then, I’ll be packing and heading down to Oregon; I’ll be at Salem for a week. (Email me if you want time)
And then back home to further grow the garden. I feel like I’m so late with it, but may 2 was the frost date here! I’m just so used to Oregon gardening…not too sure how all this will work out up here.
The other day, Hawkins was sitting at the table writing, when he noticed something under his foot. He looked and it was a HUGE bee, a carpenter bee, crawling on the floor. He caught it in a jar, then I put it outside. It was the largest bee I’ve ever seen in my life, but it was totally non-aggressive, didn’t sting him or me.

oregon coast.
And of course we plan to be moving down there by fall, so my harvest might get interrupted…oh well. Still feels good to plant things, even if the fruits will be for others to enjoy.
I can’t wait to get back to home, the nearer to the coast we get, the happier I am going to be. I feel so stranded here- too much concrete and cars, no rain, no greenery.
I can’t hear the river or the ocean, just traffic rolling by.
I hate it.
What’s more, I’m homesick for the Siuslaw forest.
