i like this state.if there was less ice and snow and treac
herous driving,i might even really like this place. but every time i cruise through here, the roads are a pile of shit.
I’m eating fried trout and eggs, though, so even with the snow-rage, everything is fine.

I am getting ready to clear out my house and studio, and buy a camper van.
I’m going on a 6-week working trip, to make some needed money; then when I get back I plan to stay in the van until next year/next fall.
I have been broke a long time and have decided that rent is a fucking luxury, and it’s time to start trying to save money. I’ll be working my ass off and living pretty minimally for about a year at least.
Because I won’t have as much room, and because I desperately need money to buy and repair the van, I’m selling off everything I have almost. Not just my art and the things I was selling online, but everything. I’m closing my etsy shops and taking everything off my personal site’s selling pages.

I will be closing my online shops on September 19th, until springtime (and probably will not be re-opening on etsy after that)
In the meantime, I’ve sent out some DEEP coupons to the newsletter people- I need to MAKE SPACE, since I will be on the road for six weeks and then moving right after…so make offers, for sure. Email me if you want to spend some money…

I also have some originals up here, some prints here, and nature/taxidermy things here.
In about a week I’ll be putting a lot of other things (not-art) up on ebay to clear out more room, I’ll post those links all at once (my username there is resonanteye1) so you can dig around the virtual yard sale.
You will still be able to order commissioned works from me, and I will be back in spring in some form here at this site- but since I’ll be on the road I can’t justify keeping the stores online open overwinter! Plus, I have some plans that will require more financial means than I have at the moment, so making even a bit back from my things will help a whole lot!
(I plan to buy a small RV, and need money to insure it and repair it and stuff)

My tattooing road trip will be starting on the first weekend of october at Legacy Tattoo in Sacramento. I’ll be there for three days, and have time as of now for appointments. I’m booking up fast though, so email me soon if you want in!
From there, I will be going to Phoenix AZ, I will be there for about ten days. If you want tattooed while I’m in the desert, you still have a few weeks to set up time with me!
After that, I am still undecided. I hope to work in Louisiana at Nakatosh Tattoo, and may possibly be doing a stop in TX, on the way east.
In the last week of october/beginning of november I will be in PA; most likely I will be working in a shop there for a few days- email me for more info, or subscribe to the weekly newsletter for updates.
My trip back west will be across the midwest; I plan to attempt to stop in a few places on my way home, although I want to avoid the worst of the winter drive, so that may be touch-and-go.

I’m beginning the flu.
(picture unrelated- it’s rocks I found at the coast the other day)
Mary is still here, she has been making me tea and she cleaned my kitchen (out of pity), which was sweet of her. She has also taken over all the lumberjack duties, and seems entranced with the process of chopping wood. (to the point of injuring herself by falling on an axe- nothing major, just a drop of blood.)
She runs a nonprofit, and is a world traveler. I will say that she certainly knows how to be a great guest, and has some brilliant plans, and goals. I like her idealism and I can’t wait to see her travels- you can find her site at http://www.nonquistadora.com/Nonquistadora/about.html
Right now she’s looking for sponsors for her long north/south trip through the americas. She’ll be on a motorbike, riding solo. She’s one of those genuine, kind, people that makes me feel like my nihilism and pessimistic view of the world should maybe lighten up a little. And her work is very worthwhile- you should take a peek at her page, her trip will be beginning very soon, so there will be some good updates there.
As for the flu, I’m taking every magical hippy vitamin I can find. And now I shall go chug some nyquil.
The site’s facelift should be done soon! I’m really excited to see what Phanie comes up with for my front page here.

palm tattoo
The people I work with, meet and work on, are the most beautiful and vibrant people on earth. A perk of my job is having frequent and wonderful guests; I get to tattoo and hang out with some of the most amazing folks ever. People in the industry make me really happy.
I remember living in cities, and I remember people just being bastards to each other- there’s a level of defensiveness to many of the people I used to know. Sarcasm, meanness. I’m glad that where I am now the people I meet and the people I know are all good, kind people that aren’t afraid to show that they care.
Also, I learned that a biscuit is actually a scone, and that a cookie is still a cookie but is also a bicuit. Or something to that effect.
