fossils and rocks.

beach rocksProbably because of the bad weather, this past spring has been great for collecting. So I have just been trying to catch up with finishing and processing some of my finds.

I’ve got almost twenty skulls to work with, forty or fifty pounds of stone, countless feathers and plants, and some dried flowers. I also got some preservation things for ferns and flowers. AND new drill sets for rock, AND I’ve been working on all these small paintings, minis and ACEOs.

However today I broke out the drill and worked with stone. I love drilling rocks. It is a very zen task. Picking through, finding the ones I think will hang best.

I ordered the gear to work with agate too- I have a lot of jasper and agate just waiting to be cut, or polished, or just drilled. So far I have stuck with sandstone and mudstone and invertebrate or bivalve fossils.

Here are a few more sets of drilled river and beach rocks- these are drilled through for stringing.
