I am prolific, and I work in a variety of styles. I’ve collected the works I think are my very best regardless of medium or subject. Some are oil, some ink, some pencil. If you find one interesting, or would like to see more examples from that series or style, an extended collection from my portfolio can be found at http://anjimarth.com ; if you’d like to purchase my work, take a look at http://resonanteye.net/buyit for a large catalog of items I have available.

For most of my work, I sell prints through a print-on-demand service, for the rest I produce my own prints on professional-grade equipment in my studio. I sell originals nearly as quickly as I make them.

I work in pencil, colored pencil, ink and wash, watercolor, and oils. I have shown in many venues and galleries in the Pacific Northwest- Unfine Art Museum and Oak Street Speakeasy in Eugene, OR, being my favorites. I’ve shown in Jim Thorpe and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and in Portland Oregon. I’ve shown in coffee shops and tattoo studios in Seattle and in handcrafted goods stores in the southwest. I have been published in Tattoo magazine, Skin and Ink, Juxtapoz, Tattoo Flash, Tattooweide, and International Tattoo magazine, among others. I am currently working in studio, and do not currently have work on display at any gallery, although I will be seeking galleries again later in the year.

forsythia keyhole, watercolor on coldpress, 2013
I have started to paint many more flowers than I used to, and preferably in watercolor. I collect antique jars, and use these as my reference when working.

oregon coast landscape painting

storm over heceta, oil on canvas 2012
I paint landscapes on site, where I see them. I take minimal things along to paint with. The most difficult part of plein air for me, is that my hands get incredibly cold, even in gloves.

sexy amputee girl fetish painting

punk rock spirit, 2010, oil on canvas
I like using the vertical format to paint women.
I find that their personality shines through when we can see them in totality.

nude blonde oil painting

longing, oil on canvas, 2009
Both of these (and most of the women I paint) are people I know, who posed for me at one time or another. All of the women I paint, with very few exceptions, are real human beings.

bright orange original painting

The Wires, watercolor and ink on coldpress, 2009
In real life, I dislike birds. I wouldn’t hurt them, but they have such weird scaly feet that I simply don’t want to get too near to them. In painting, however, I love birds for their poise and the nearly-geometric patterns of feathers.

too late smart

miniature tattoo skull, pennsylvania dutch saying. ink on hotpress, 3×4″
rarely paint small items, but when I do I try to find the right mini-frames for them. The skull is a saying my grandmother had, too soon old, too late smart.

creepy nightmare spider monkey skeleton

taxidermy work; various bones, oil stain, preservative, ink, luthier’s glue. 2011

coyote skull taxidermy mount on red fabric

The Nine, coyote skull, cicada husks, bones, dyed feathers, red velvet in silvered frame.
My taxidermy work is a very long, involved process. I use materials that might disgust or startle others. I try to tap into what the living animal might have been like, when working with these.
