two versions of ramirez, and a book?
Posted by resonanteye on 06/14/2012
I may or may not be working on a hand-bound book of prints and stories about these killers, including crime scene paintings I’ve been doing for each one.
If I do this, the blue ramirez is meant as the cover of the book.
I have no title yet, and only a few stories written up beyond the ones already posted here at the site.
This is a big project and I don’t know how long it will take. I’m still, on the side, working with a tarot set; so it will depend on how much time I have for progress after working on that and my commissions/tattoo work (rent! paying rent)
ah, it’s always the starving artist thing.
If I manage to do fairly well the next month or two I’ll have more time to devote to this. I really would love to get it together soonish.
It’s always having to work to pay the rent that gets in the way of future projects.
I wish people would buy what I’ve already made and framed, sometimes, rather than asking for commissioned work. But then again, a lot of hilarious or enjoyable imagery comes from commissions, so it’s not a bad thing…
I’ll update here with paypal buttons as soon as I’ve scanned and printed this one for sale.
He’ll be in the portrait section as well.
OH YEAH, as well as finishing these two drawings today, I also finished a portrait of another of my favorite movie sociopaths, fictional psychopaths-
mcmurphy.
I’ll have prints of this one up soon as well.
I’m considering adding Nurse Ratchet too, but I think I have to re-read the book first, as her motivations are not as clear as his.
Title suggestions, book length and size ideas, and thoughts on price and such are all welcome- leave me a comment with your opinions!

A book sounds like the way to go with these! A nice big hardcover glossy coffee table type of monstrosity. These serial killer portraits of yours remind me of the True Crime Trading cards (trust me, as a former “musician” I know it’s not always fun to have your work compared to something else, so you can trust me when I say that it’s not at all a negative remark about your work, just an observation). I wouldn’t be worried about being overwhelmed with other projects as it relates to this idea. All these dudes are already infamous. They ain’t going anywhere. You can take your time putting it together. You may even have story rights to deal with, I don’t know. And as time goes on, there’ll be NEW and IMPROVED serial killers you can add to the collection! beautiful work Anji! I seriously love all of these!
